I found this book puzzling. A story of a woman with an American heiress as the Mother and an Italian Prince as the father, in the end I felt that while it provided a glimpse of the thinking and living of the 'upper classes' in Europe (mainly Italian and British), there was a lot of fluff surrounding a kernel of a story.
