Quotes Anamika Liked

Epictetus
“Some young women confuse their self-worth with their ability to attract the attention of men, and so pour all their energies into makeup, clothing, and jewelry. If only they realized that virtue, honor, and self-respect are the marks of a true beauty.”
Epictetus, The Manual: A Philosopher's Guide to Life

Epictetus
“Working within our sphere of control, we are naturally free, independent, and strong. Beyond that sphere, we are weak, limited, and dependent.”
Epictetus, The Manual: A Philosopher's Guide to Life

Sam Torode
“Stoicism doesn’t mean repressing emotion and shunning pleasure, I learned, but—in essence—focusing on what is in our power and letting go of everything we can’t control.”
Sam Torode, The Manual: A Philosopher's Guide to Life

Epictetus
“When you are feeling upset, angry, or sad, don’t blame another for your state of mind. Your condition is the result of your own opinions and interpretations.”
Epictetus, The Manual: A Philosopher's Guide to Life
