3.5 stars! there’s definitely ISSUES with this book (but honestly other reviews list them better than i do) and obviously to read it you have to be okay with the words “mate and “male used in copious amounts, but all in all this was resolved quite neatly. i still can’t tell whether i particularly like any of the characters because they’re characterized either inconsistently or in a way that i feel is kind of a trope??? i don’t quite love the sisters because i think sjm is trying to make them strong but they come out as petulant and i’m not sure what the basis of their love/bond is. sjm tells us that mor is a good friend, but i can’t really tell that she is? i LOVE cassian and azriel but honestly beside some banter, broody pasts, and noble warrior fighting, i’m not sure there’s much substance. but some stand out characters that were definitely interesting: jurian, eris, the rest of the high lords (tamlin??? redemption arc?), the suriel, amren, VASSA (is this another fairytale reference because i’m pretty sure it is), and LUCIEN (i loved lucien in this bc he and feyre are such good friends for each other tho his mate elain is off w azriel i guess)
