Ladies and Gentleman, THAT is how to sum up basically this entire series since Glass Sword. and now, this is how I'm feeling now that this great series is over....






BUT at the same time with the ending AND Epilogue...




NOT that it was terrible, but I can see WHY it ended the way it did in the Epilogue, but it still felt like a hole. But it was actually fitting enough the more I look back on it now and I think the reason I wasn't as satisfied is because it's a kind of ending not most of us readers aren't used to but for this particular story.... it was fitting enough and after the very last few lines of the epilogue, it redeemed itself haha.


So part of me was still brokenhearted over two certain characters even though I completely understood where they were coming from. Overall.... WHAT A FINALE!! I laughed, cried internally, freaked out BAD over a couple of almost deaths and I was about to kill Aveyard for them.... gosh dang it this book series! I'm so GLAD I had picked up the first two last year just a month or two before King's Cage was released and so that way I ONLY had to wait for this one. I usually like to drag series out close to at least the second or third to last book if possible. there's those few exceptions, but this series looking back last year.... boy am I GLAD I got to read them quickly as I did.


I LOVED LOVED LOOOOOVED these characters, the story was slow, but a good slow, fun, and I loved the characters agh! I'll miss a lot of them and felt so many connections with them that I wanted to finish their stories. I can see why this series probably wouldn't be for everyone, but something about them I did end up loving. I didn't think they were AMAZING personally, but good enough and same with the character development which I MAINLY look for in books. If I can connect with them, and I'm fangirling, it's a good sign and boy was I FANGIRLING like crazy throughout this series.


overall, good job on a great story idea Victoria Aveyard and introducing us to the Lightning Girl, Mare Barrow, the Calore brothers, Cal aka Tiberias and Maven, General Diana Farley, the old fisherman apprentice turned soldier and in the resistance Kilorn, and many many others. whether they were good, evil, or just a threat, THANK YOU for your characters and their story! words truly can't express how much I did actually like this book and finale. even though I wished it ended differently than I wanted it ;) those who read this will probably get my meaning.



Also, I was shocked that it took me almost 2 weeks to get through this massive book on my kindle! It felt like it went a bit longer haha *shrugging shoulders* but now that it's over, it's time to say goodbye to my new favorite characters.
