Read 2 times. Last read August 29, 2022 to September 2, 2022.
Re-read as audiobook in 2022 for upcoming 3rd book in the series! Gosh - this book is just so good! I was nervous whether I would love Beartown and Us against you the same way I loved them a few years ago. And I think I love them ever more now. The way the books explores human emotions and the depth of characters is outstanding. You get so drawn into the lives of the people at Beartown. Will be having a book hungover from these books again.
This book is dark, gut-wrenching that breaks your heart but also gives hope. Beartown was my favorite book of 2017 and Us against you will be my favorite book for 2018, I am sure. Us against you goes deeper than Beartown. Fredrick Backman does an excellent job writing, I could feel the pain of the characters (oh, Benji, my heart still breaks for him) and a few times I had to put the book away and digest what I read. Read Beartown first and then Us against you, but be warned it is an emotional read.
