it was amazing
Read 4 times

I abosolutely love this book, and just about anything by Gregory Maguire. His books are complex and complelling. Honestly, if you don't understand the book, read it again. I've read this book about 4 times, and I'm still discovering new things that I can't believe I missed. I love the politics, adventure, familularity of the plot, and lets face it, this book is pretty sexy. It has everything I'd want in a book. I feel intelligent when I talk about it, because I know most people don't have the patients to decode the story. I've never seen the play, but I know most the songs by heart. If you have read this book after seeing the play, be prepaired for a big wtf moment. Just from the songs, I can tell its way off. I would be upset about the difference, but because it varries so much, I dont even consider them the same story. I've also read the Son of a Witch, which was just as complelling, but I need to read it again. I plan on getting the rest of the set for Christmas, and I can't wait to see what else is waiting to be discovered in Oz.
