I'm not sure if I liked this book so much because it is by one of my favorite authors, or if it is really that good. Either way, I really liked this book. I'm pretty sure that Frederik Backman is the only author I know that could get me to read TWO books revolving around hockey! And give them both 5 stars! lol Actually, his books may feature hockey, but they are really about people. This book is very emotionally charged and I'd be lying if I didn't say that I shed a few tears while reading it. His passages on death and grief can cut right into your heart. "Death does that to us, its like a phone call, you always remember exactly what you should have said the moment you hang up. Now there's just an answering machine full of memories at the other end, fragments of a voice that are getting weaker and weaker." I highly recommend reading the first book, Beartown, before reading this one. He gives a little synopsis of what has happened before launching into this story - but it really is best to understand the whole story told in Beartown first. I hope you love it as much as I did!!!
