I can see why people are going crazy for The Witcher. The first short story compilation is good. Geralt is currently recovering from a nasty job and reflects on his adventures in a palace. I won't go into too much detail since this is after all a short story compilation but my favorite story was A Grain of Truth, there is an intellectual conversation between Geralt and a humanoid and it's really pleasant to listen to. Probably the most boring and worst story in this was The Edge Of The World. The book tells us about Geralt's relationships with Dandelion and Yennefer which are very well written.

If you want something different in fantasy, choose this short story sword and sorcery book. You'll get a lot of value out of it and it made me want to play The Witcher Games.
