I just finished The Dry, and it’s a very good mystery for those who like gritty mystery books. It delves Into a lot of tough subjects like murder (including the graphic murder of a child), abuse, suicide, vandalism, addiction and a lot of loss. Set in the (fictional) small town of Kiewarra, Australia during a lengthy drought, the overall read was pretty dark. The protagonist, Aaron Falk is smart, humble and likeable. I would only recommend it if those types of mystery works don’t bother you....the writing was excellent though. Strong characters that were very dimensional, that you cared about. Strong themes, sound plot. The Audible narrator is SO good. I listened compulsively!
