Read 2 times. Last read August 1, 2019 to August 8, 2019.

Excerpt from my journal:
"11:23 p.m. "Here I lay, reading the best book in the world. "Everything, Everything.""

"11:52 p.m. "I finished it... It was AMAZING!" "

Everything, Everything is by far my favorite 2018 read!

I absolutely LOVED this story. I devoured it very quickly. (Almost as quickly as I eat bagels and cream cheese.) Not many books have me staying up till midnight wanting to finish them, but this one did... So without further ado, let's get into my review!

(Ooh, that rhymed! Who am I, Dr. Suess?! Ooh, maybe I am.. You'll never know.)
(Government, Please don't arrest me for impersonation... Can you be arrested for that?)

First, the TITLE!
Ok.. Let's frank here...
WHAT DOES THE TITLED HAVE TO DO WITH THE STORY?!?!?!?
I am yes, the title is really fun to say...

Person: Oh hey, what are you reading?
Me: I am reading EVERYTHING.. *dramatic pause* EVERYTHING! *longer dramatic pause* By Nicola Yoon...
The title is also VERY intriguing.
But after I read the story...
I was like "WHAT?! Why you call it "Everything, Everything?!""
(view spoiler)
*mind boom*
The thing is.. THAT WASN'T IN THE BOOK!
Was it?
I think I wouldn't have missed it.

Let's move on to the plot.
OH MY GUMDROPS!
The plot..

oh.. where to begin..

(view spoiler)

Being trapped in my house for 17 years would probably drive me crazy. I don't know how Maddy survives. Probably because she had to the three most important things in life. Food, books, and internet. I think I might survive But if I didn’t have books.. NOPE! I would DIE! So anyway, being couped up in a house for 17 years might make someone a bit crazy, but not Maddy. I found it a bit hard to believe she had never gone even a tiny bit crazy.

A lot of the plot was unexplained. For instance, (view spoiler)

The romance. Lets talk about this I do not like romance that much. I mean I am like any person. love to see couples get together and live happily ever after. I don’t like racy scenes though. In fact, the whole story kind of reminded me of “A fault in our stars. Even though I’ve never read it, I do know the general plot. Why does this have to do with romance? Well, in TFIOS, there is a racy scene where “things happen between Gus and Hazel. It takes place in a hotel room. So of course when Maddy and Olly check into a hotel room with only one bed, I was thinking “Please don’t make them do that thing…

But then
It happened..
*sigh*

So that was gross
MOVING ON!

Picking up on the similarities between TFIOS and Everything, Everything. In TFIOS, I am pretty sure either (view spoiler) So I kept thinking Maddy had better not die, or I will be so sad.

When I read things that mention symptoms and then I start getting those symptoms it freaks me out. That is why I sometimes avoid medical-related books, but this one was to good to DNF it.

The mini plot thread about Olly’s dad being addicted to drink was really sad. I just felt sad to hear about how his dad was once a sober man. He was once kind, but then tradgedy changed him. I can’t blame him though Whenever tribulations and troubles come my way, I often consider taking drastic measures to make my life even the tiniest bit better. Bagels and cream cheese make everything better. Usually.
Kudos to Olly for defending his mom and sister though. That was pretty admirable.

I haven’t talked much about Olly, have I?
Let’s talk about Olly.
He is interesting. I love that he can just hang on walls and climb up things. Its like his second nature. Its pretty cool.
(view spoiler)
Besides that, he is a cool character.
-NO FURTHER DEVELOPMENT AVAILABLE-
I’m lazy, and he wasn’t that intersting of a character to me.

THE ENDING!

Oh, darn! I forgot to talk about Carla.. HOW COULD I FORGET CARLA?!
Quick sections ‘bout Carla:
She’s nice, she’s fun, she’s amazing!

NOW!
The bottom line for all those who don’t have time to read my lengthy review. (Yes, I know its long)
Bottom line:
The story is very well written with amazing twists. This story will have you flipping every page till your done. Then when you finish, you’ll be extremely sad.

YAY!
