This collection features a lot of different art styles and a lot of different tones between all of the writers. Everyone is using the characters of Hellboy, but to tell their own short tales, some humorous, some gothic. It is a mixed bag. I did recognize some familiar names such as Eric Powell of The Goon, Volume 1: Nothin' but Misery fame. So, perhaps the best part of this was that it reminded me to keep reading The Goon.
