When you think that you've read enough, seen enough, that nothing will ever surprise you... you are wrong. As one of those people who read or watched many different stories I thought that this book won't shock me, not even close (coz I've read too many predictable stories, right?). But... This is S. J. Maas, the author which likes to make you think that nothing amazing will happen until... it happens.
At the begging of digging into this book I was so frustrated with characters. I was on a verge of giving up. It wasn't logical to me how two people could argue so much, having a powerful enemy as they did, the common enemy who posses a destruction as his second nature.
However, I decided to give this book a chance. Nothing is ever perfect, right? I'm gladful that I stuck with Queen of Shadows. Otherwise, it would have been a huge mistake.
The book didn't pick up for me for around 60% though. Nevertheless, I truly enjoyed remaining 40%. It turned out to be totally amazing. New, or changed, characters joined the cast. Story transformed into fully epic tale. No regrets here.
Everyone who didn't feel those vibes of Maas' magical world should pick this one up. Story evolves and world gets better. Recommendable!

"I know, this story is supposed to be amazing and all that is the best. I don't buy it. Aelin and Chaol acts like little childish brats. I don't see how they are going to survive in this book. So far they are throwing tantrum and blaming each other for goddess knows what. I just wish they would make peace with each other and finally realize who the real enemy is."
