"I knew little else, but I always knew you."
Re-read review:
Please ignore everything I ever previously said about this book. (Except for the good things. You can remember those.) I don't know what happened to make me think this book was less than a five star read or not as good as the others in the trilogy. I was insane.
This book is so special. Obviously, it's all about Jude and Cardan and the absolute heart eyes they induce. I love the two of them so much, together and as individual characters. Holly Black really invented enemies to lovers with this series.
This is super action-packed. Like, I can't believe so much happens in only 300 pages! Everyone undergoes such amazing character growth. The ending is perfect. This is how conclusions should be done.
I just know I am going to have the most intense book hangover now. ðŸ˜
-------------------------------------------------------------
I just want you to know that it pains me, literally causes me physical pain, to give this book less than five stars. But to me it was not perfect, and give it four stars I must.
I adore this trilogy with all of my heart. I feel like it has opened my eyes to a new corner of the fantasy genre that I was previously blind to. I am forever grateful for it, and I will forever love it. The Cruel Prince was one of my favorite books of 2018 and probably one of my biggest surprises. The Wicked King is undoubtedly my favorite book of 2019. It has taken up a very special place in my heart. So, my expectations for The Queen of Nothing were sky-high and I don't think they were quite met.
I loved this book, but there were parts that I still cannot reconcile. (view spoiler) But then there were things I adored. (view spoiler)
My feelings about this book are so mixed and all over the place, but I love this series. I love these characters and this story and Holly Black. I simply cannot believe it's over.

“It’s you I love,â€ he says. “I spent much of my life guarding my heart. I guarded it so well that I could behave as though I didn’t have one at all. Even now, it is a shabby, worm-eaten, and scabrous thing. But it is yours.â€ He walks to the door to the royal chambers, as though to end the conversation. “You probably guessed as much,â€ he says. “But just in case you didn’t.”
