The Queen of Nothing (The Folk of the Air, #3)

#mystrangereading The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black ⭐️⭐️⭐️ I have a very unpopular opinion for this book and the end of the series, but I hope you will hear me out.
🙇🏻♀
This is a disappointing conclusion to what could have been an incredible and different take on fantasy writing, but I feel like where she took risks in the first book, the last two books took a turn to cliché and predictable—which wouldn’t be an issue if it hadn’t had such promise of being something different 🤦🏻♀
My issues:
👸🏻The Jude at the end of the series isn't the same Jude from the beginning of the series, and I know--I know--that's the point of character development, but I also feel like it wasn't so much 'development' and instead just plot armour. 🤷🏻♀
👸🏻A lot of plot holes and conflicts are just 'explained away' with a sentence or two of dialogue.
👸🏻 The ending was just too happy! The titles taught us to know to expect cruel, wicked and painful things that lead to NOTHING and then, then you just turn it into a happily ever after story!? Really?! And yes, as a person who reads chicklit religiously, I realize the irony of my anger at a HEA, but it's just not what I was expecting or hoping for after all the incredible intrigue and betrayal.
Again, I know every so many people LOVE the series and think the ending is PERFECT, but it just wasn't what I was hoping for.
