For about half of this book I thought "this is interesting, I dig it, it's different, but I don't know if it's my thing". Then, here and there scenes and causally dropped lines of dialogue or observations would chill me to the bones, and I would think "oh man, I'm going to need more Strugatsky brothers works for sure, some of this is excellent". And then I read chapter 4. I don't know how to go on with my day now. F*ck me.
