I am sort of torn on this. I've really liked her other work, but the pacing on this just seemed off. There was a lot of plodding, minutia level details in the first two acts and then EVERYTHING happens in the last act. I picked it up; I put it down; I picked it up; I put it down. It took me four months to finally push through it and it was a forced effort, until last night, where I devoured the last hundred pages or so. I have already emphatically recommended Mira's work to people who like well paced horror with likable, witty characters, but I'd struggle to do so here.
