Amazing, Karen Chance did it again
Its a long book, but you don't feel it. I was instantly transported to the world and hooked
I am so impressed with this installation of the Cassandra palmer series.
This book had what the last 3 didn't, incredible pacing, the action was not overwhelming and a constant confusion. The characters weren't always shouting at each other and for once having actual conversations. However, Crazy 'life or death' things that happen nonstop continue to occur. In Cassie's world it's still only been 4 months since this all started. I'm not annoyed or disappointed. You know that's what you're going to get but in terms of overarching plot of the whole series, we haven't moved forward much.
The sheer amount of characters in the story were all well placed and somehow interwoven without getting to complicated too follow.
So many threads that were just hanging in the air were finally addressed and you can see the end game thats coming
In this book I saw so much growth and maturity from Cassie. She's looking at the situation, shes accepting her abilities, and she's not complaining about her lack of respect but finally not taking shit from the other powerful magical beings and demanding what she deserves.
the tie ins from Dory's series and the side books were woven in beautifully.
Mircea came across a lot better in this book and although my heart strings were pulled with what has happened to their relationship (despite being a Prtikin stan) I understand why it took the course it did. You feel Cassie's frustration, and sadness and UGH I can't
and Caedmons here <3 <3 <3 One of my absolute favourite secondary characters
I really want this series to never end <3
SO grateful that the 10th book is coming out this year because I don't think I could wait any longer
