As a huge Colleen Hoover fan I must say that this book disturbed me. Had I never read one of her previous books, I feel like this would be maybe a 4 star read. But honestly it was a bit much for me. I like her other books better. Not that her writing wasn’t amazing...it was! She captured my attention from the get go and she wrote a grueling, gut wrenching horror story! It’s just that I could hardly stomach most of this book. So, well done in that regard. The last chapters helped stomach my feelings, but at this point, I’m just glad to be done with this twisted tortured story. It felt raunchy and gross and disturbing and disgusting. I think that’s what CoHo was going for. I can’t wait until her next book, and hopefully it’ll be a more typical twisted love story. This was just vile.
