really liked it

I really enjoyed this fantasy story about a group of people trying to get their magic back after an evil king banished the gods that supplied the magic. I enjoyed the first person point of view from three characters, it allowed a good glimpse into each of their struggles and allowed the reader to feel connected to the characters growth. Great imagery, which is important in fantasy because there are made-up animals, powers, lands, and people. My only complaint is I thought the pacing was off. The book probably could have been shortened by at least 50 pages to help with this. I look forward to reading the next book!
