The main character Basarov is the first nihilist of world literature, and rejects all conventional moral concepts. Even in love, he sees nothing but the helplessness of lonely people and distances himself from her. When he finally falls in love, his worldview collapses. Also next to the main character you will meet interesting characters and it's just fun to read this book. Fathers and Sons"is one of the best-known Russian social novels, which portrays the sensitivities of Russia in the mid-nineteenth century very vividly. Absolutelly recomendable.
