A Discovery of Witches (All Souls, #1)

I feel like the book could have been shorter. The middle was pretty tedious. I didn't like the lovey dovey vampire/witch action. Though I rarely do. It wasn't as bad as Twilight as some have suggested. Yes there was 'control' issues between the two and Diana kinda becomes needy, but nothing absurd. I could do without the undying-love-after-knowing-each-other-for-a-couple-of-weeks. Gag me.
Besides these things the book was pretty good. I would be surprised if there wasn't a sequel. And I'd read it.

"I don't understand why some people dislike this book so much. From some of the... more colorful reviews, you would think a monkey scribbled this book. So far I am intrigued and interested enough to keep reading. The yoga scene wasn't even that bad. I was expecting something way, way worse."

"The whole middle is very very slow. Not much going on. Maybe it's "character development" but all I read is, "I love you. I love you more. I'm a witch that can't control her power. I'm a vampire and I'm controlling and need to smother you and growl when I don't get my way. No, I love you more.""
