Het parfum: de geschiedenis van een moordenaar

Nice story, really a good idea for a plot, but not that well written in my opinion, I have to say... certain things aren't well explained at all and many characters in the book (including Grenouille, which of course is intended) are very two-dimensional and boring, while the book has some lengths in other parts. Patrick Süskind tells a remarkable story but somehow fails to give it the life it deserves. It's a book you will remember because of it's general idea, or because of the plot outline, but not so much because of its style. I expected much more. Even though the movie changed some (in my opinion only minor) parts, it's a really good adaption. It's a small book, so you won't regret reading it, but honestly: the movie was MUCH better.
