i know that the title has "racing" in it, but a little too much racing for my taste. If you like racing and dogs then you will really love this book. There were parts of this book I really loved quite a bit. This was certainly a good book with a dog as the main thing, but not as good as Merle's door....which I recommend to any dog person.

Andrew Kim Sure, the book has plenty of racing in it. But even if you aren't a "racing person," there are still several reasons to love this novel. I believe that this book is about a lot more than just a dog and some racing. It is, in a way, more about us than it is about either of those two things. The racing idea is merely a metaphor for life; it isn't about just going fast, it's about strategy and learning from mistakes. Enzo not only plays the role of a witty narrator, but also a brilliant philosopher, who provides insight into loyalty, family, and tragedy in a way that only an outsider could.
