it was amazing
bookshelves: fiction, politics, science

Circes another excellent book based on Greek mythology by Madeline Miller. I first read Song of Achilles by the author, and I was blown away. Her beautiful language and masterful storytelling, written in the first person was a fascinating read. The only disappointment was that eventually her book had to end. My first read by Miller was amazing, I wanted more.

Thankfully Miller had also written Circes, based on Greek mythology. Circes was a god and the story unfolded in first person through Circe’s eyes. Miller’s use of language is incredibly beautiful and took me back in time, even though her book was recently written. The use of first person is brilliant. Her writing style alone would have been enough to excite the reader. But coupled with her art of storytelling and use of Greek mythology, Miller drew me in, and kept my interest. This is the craft of writing at its finest.
