I think this may have been my favorite book in the series. And I think that's mostly because of Eden. I was drawn to Eden in the original series, he was just such an innocent little boy who was being used as a catalyst for his older brother. So when I found out this book was about an older Eden, I knew I had to read it.
This book differed from the previous book as it wasn't told between June and Day. Instead, it was Day and Eden. This was more a story about brothers - brothers who are just trying to survive the nightmares of their past. And to me, that was the most important aspect of this book. The relationship between Daniel and Eden drive this story and is one of the best portrayals of a family in pain I've read. The way the two avoided each other but needed each other broke my heart. And the scene where they finally broke down almost broke me.
Because this is the Legend series, the June and Day saga is far from over. Not only is Daniel dealing with his brother, he's also dealing with his memories coming back and most of them involve June. They are still two very different people living very different lives, but when they come back together it's like time never stopped. You couldn't help but root for them to find their way back to each other.
This was a fantastic ending to this series. And as much as I would love to read more, especially about Eden, I think this wraps everything up nicely. Eden is a new fave.
