“I never minded being a minor villain, but it’s possible I might have grown into something else, a High King as monstrous as Dain. And if I did I ought to be stopped. And I believe that you would stop me.
It may have taken most of the year and lots of disappointments from a lot of big name authors along the way, but I’ve finally found the series ending that is fulfilling and lives up to the all of my expectations. Was this ever going to be my favorite series? No, but after reading the final pages, which PS I devoured in essentially one sitting, I can say I am satisfied with this series as a whole and I can totally see myself bing reading these books again sometime soon. Holly Black managed to bring home all the open conflicts and plots in an immensely satisfying way without relying on a bunch of fan-servicing gimmicks that would tear her fandom in half. While it’s by no means a perfect book, I sure as hell enjoyed every moment of it. Thank you, Holly Black, for sticking the landing!
