liked it

I wanted more from this book than I got. I wanted to know more about Ukraine. I wanted the deep and complex mother-daughter dynamic. I wanted the â€œmorally urgentâ€� storytelling Anthony Marta promised on the cover blurb. I got elements of all those things but this story and these characters never gripped me or moved me in the ways I hoped for.
