After actually enjoying Gaiman's The Graveyard Book, I was hoping to find another 'written for younger audiences' gem in Stardust, but alas dear reader, that is not to be.
.
I like the idea of Victorian England a almost remote village having a portal to the land of the faerie - I liked the idea of a fallen star and the good old fashioned knight-quest sort of journey, but in the telling I was just not enthused or that interested... it was so bad with 10 pages to go, I nipped out to have chat with my neighbour, and didn't return for over 2 hours!
.
A new fairytale-like story with a bit of adult humour, killing and sex. Some nice world building, with his usual Gothic-Britain undertones. A sorry 5 out of 12.
