Just finished Where the Crawdads Sing. So overrated. Like a bad pastiche of W. H. Hudson's Green Mansions and the great Pat Conroy. Tacked on "surprise" ending. Definitely not one of the "best books I've ever read" as some have postulated. If you want to read really go writing about the low country try Pat Conroy. For southern Gothic no one beats Faulkner. Don't waste your time on this one.
