Go ahead, throw your rotten tomatoes at me. I fully realize that many of you have loved this book and that I'm in the minority here with my opinion. This has had a lot of hoop-la and positivity from other sources. I really wanted to like this. I listened to 13 chapters of the audio version and was quite simply bored, actually falling asleep at times. If it had been an ARC I probably would have finished it due to feeling obligated to the providing sources, but it was not, therefore I let it wither on the proverbial vine.

The narrator was quite good what with the southern dialects and beautiful descriptive prose, but alas, this was just not enough to keep me vested into continuing, although I would never discourage anyone from giving it a go. I may even try it again, as I've been told it is good by several friends who's opinion I value, but not any time soon. Reading the written word as opposed to listening to it may appeal to me more.
