Olympos (Ilium, #2)

** spoiler alert **
I was into it (with some problems but surmountable) til the last 100 pages or so. Then the book seemed interminable. Things had become too improbable. Harmon drowns in gold liquid absorbing the knowledge of some million volumes? Why did they make him walk the Atlantic Breach and get irradiated? How did the manurocs know about it? (I forgot already what they were called-sorry). By the time he got to the Golden Gate and revived in the crèche I wasn’t invested in his survival any more. Mystical Moira with all her abilities just flitting around. Doing what? The porno scene with Odysseus and Sycorex was irritating. I didn’t find it funny that the Amazon that Achilles revived turned out to be a nag-that wasn’t her initial presentation. The end was all happy but stridently and flippantly so-very pat and quick after a long arduous tale. Maybe I’m tired. I was just over it by he end.
