I feel that way about Wild Seed/Mind of My Mind. Octavia Butler is amazing!!!!!

I read it in basically one sitting yesterday! Exceptionally dark, but ultimately optimistic. Such a captivating book, full of moral gray areas and human touches.

I agree! I tried so hard to empathize with Marc but I ultimately couldn’t. And Asha ended up criticizing Olamina for choosing Earthseed over her (I understand why Asha believes this, but I don’t fully agree) but Marc most definitely chose CA over his sister

Yes!! And have to admit, I'm upset that Asha was pulled so deeply along with him. I feel that she was working hard to understand her mother, but I really didn't agree with many of her deductions.
