There is testosterone aplenty with Adam losing his mind over Angelina's disappearance; Slade being forced to reveal his feelings for Jillian in front of the entire compound, humiliating them both and Sid falling for psychic to the dead, Lana Fitzpatrick while undercover to find exactly who's responsible for the human/half-breed trafficking ring.

When the VC shares information on the trafficking case with the police involvement, Jared learns Lana wasn't a bimbo on a bad date when she met Sid, she's an undercover police officer working the same case and he has Lana assigned to work with Sid until the case completes.

Dead bodies begin to appear and Lana's able to verify that the bodies can be linked to the trafficking ring, while Adam makes bad choices in his quest to find Angelina and finds a way into the crime but needs Jill's help which sends Slade's alpha instincts through the roof.

This medium paced read was extremely busy but didn't feel overfull and it's all hands on deck as they get close to discovering the villain. Sassy, strong Lana stood toe to toe with playful, sexy Sidilicous and their insta-attraction romance is one of the most fun of the series for my taste.
