3.0 to 3.5 stars. It has been a while since I read this and it is on my list to re-read in the near future. I do remember being blown away by the science of the story but feeling that the plot was a little slow at parts.

Nominee: Arthur C. Clarke Award for Best Science Fiction Novel.

Albert Romero I love science fiction that gives science fiction a good name and isn't fantasy. Baxter writes fiction in which the science is right or theoretically sound. In my opinion maybe the best of his generation combining real science with realistic storytelling .some may say it's unromantic writing but that is what I like about it, it's true to life the universe can be beautiful but it's also unforgiving and oblivious to the emotional baggage we carry as humans sometimes, I started with Titan and have been reading ever since, Evolution also one of my favorites
