Life is Short for Saints

A beautiful sad tale enclosing a simple message:

The ones who sacrifice their own benefit for the sake of others are doomed to a very short life on Earth.
Like in the story, I do hope there’s a Heaven where their goodness shall be rewarded.

Gosh!... Did I fool anyone else but me?!... 😉

MihaElla Ah, my dearest Maria Paula! I am certain not of any validity of such axiom. Maybe it used to be so in the middle ages, but nowadays no one wants to be a saint anymore. It doesn't fit with the modern fashion, nor with the mankind bias ;)

Maria Espadinha Hello my dearest Mihaella 🥰
So nice to hear from you😁
Saints are extreme creatures. Their presence on earth is justifiable by the existence of devils like Adolf Hitler, Jack the Ripper and others of the kind. According to the Law of Creation, everything’s fine as long as there’s Balance
Best thing to do is finding our own balance with a blend of Saints and Demons, I suppose?!
Happy week , lovely Mihaella 🥰
Thanks for dropping by 😍😁👍

Nuri I read this story when I was in 5th grade, and I'd weep a lot. It has stayed with me all these years and I'm a grown woman now. It did teach me the need to be kind to those who are not accustomed to having kindness done to them. And yes, maybe, life is short for saints but then the measure of the life in their years, turns out to be grand.

So glad to have one across a review of the story I love so much. Thank you, Maria! I was planning to read more of Oscar Wilde's stories and this just prompted me to grab my book off the shelf.

Maria Espadinha Thank you so much for your kind, beautiful words, Nuri
You have a good point there: better quality than quantity, right?!

I’m happy to know my review brought you some good old memories
Happy readings and thank you so much for your nice presence 😍

Nuri You're so kind, Maria. Thank you for your GR friendship. That's a really cool bio. I'm glad you had someone to help nurture your love for books. :) I'm not an avid reader, but books find me from time to time, and I mostly end up rating them 4 or 5 stars. :) Often, the books I read are the ones I need to read in that moment of life. 💐😍

Maria Espadinha It was my pleasure, my dear Nuri 🥰
Books are great guiders, aren’t they?! 😉
Have a superb day and welcome to my friends group 😁👍
