Kafka on the Shore

** spoiler alert **
Half way through this book, I wanted to fight anyone who liked it. By the end, it does tie itself together. It's just not my thing, the whole mystical realism. The story is pretty mundane, the characters aren't necessarily interesting, and the weird stuff that Murikami throws into the story, such as fish falling from the sky, overly descriptive sexual encounters, and even the whole Oedipus idea, feel random and out of place instead of being crucial to the story. Just not my thing. I certainly won't read any more Murakami.
