Probably the most open-ended of the Foreigner novels up to this point, with no real resolution at the end and clearly meant to be concluded in the third volume. After all the distant intrigue in Conspirator it's nice to be able to see Bren actually interact with some of the people involved. I also really liked the way Cajeiri is developing. His scenes with Geigi in particular were really touching.
