This book is a very good novel for something that falls under the category of paranormal romance. Lots of people judge paranormal romance off books like Twilight which a large group of people have been criticising for a long time. However it is paranormal romance books like Halo that show how paranormal romance doesn't have to be a melodramatic and extremely romantic book. There is nothing particularly "steamy"about Halo. It's all about overcoming obstacles to be with one that you love and it doesn't matter who it is. As Bethany is an angel and Xavier is a human their love is described as "unconventional" and "dangerous". Bethany and Xavier face accusations from friends, family and high powers but their love is strong enough to overrule outside opinions. They don't need the physical love either. Sex does not make their relationship stronger and weaker and that is very beautiful in my opinion. Their love is so strong emotionally, they don't need what everyone else says they "need". If you're not religious like I am then maybe you won't get all the religious references but the story isn't dependant on that and is understandable and beautiful on its own. There are some flaws but every books has its flawed. My recommendation would be to read this book and then make up your mind. Keep in mind to read the first two chapters because one of its flaws that I was talking about is its not exactly enrapturing in the start but it progresses very well after about the first two to three chapters.
