I read this book a long time ago. I didn't like any of that family except the youngest daughter born a bit after the others. She disliked the parents, stood up to them and told them what she thought of them. Jeannette Wells loved her parents, or said she did. The parents were selfish, thought only of themselves. The children were abused, the parents did what they wanted to, had no consideration for their kids. They shouldn't have had children. They lived down in rundown places, never tried to better themselves, had no pride in themselves. This book made me mad.
