it was ok

Honestly disappointed in the conclusion of this series. The first book for me is compelling and fresh, a fun read with philosophical quandaries and enjoyable characters. Book two took this series down some cool pathways: a delve into the AI brain of the thunderhead, the diverging of the main characters, a core new character with a significant plot line, and a well-done reemergence of a villain through monstrous means. I couldn’t stop recommending this series to people and eagerly awaited the third book.

Book three, however, falls flat of everything built before it. There are too many new characters introduced which dilutes the focus on the core characters you grew to love, the intersection of multiple timelines and characters doesn’t click or amaze, the rising action is all over the place and the there really isn’t an epic final anything. The focus to the end is tying the bow on the sprawling list of characters that the actual heart of the story and the series even is lost. There was no mystery or plot twist. This book is a haphazard mess that falls short of the potential built in the two previous brilliant novels.
