it was amazing

This book was shattering, riveting. I enjoyed it even more than "The Kite Runner." It is the story of two women living in Afghanistan, Laila and Mariam, and how they are just incredible characters. I kept putting off finishing the book because I couldn't stand the thought of it being over, of my relationship with the characters ending. It reminded me a lot of "The Color Purple," in terms of the potential strength of female relationships, and characters enduring seemingly endless hardships. A really amazing book.
