Oof. This was a disappointing read. I’m giving two stars because the author is clearly talented and can write elegant pros and fleshed out characters, the problem for me was none of the characters were even remotely likable or relatable. I frankly could care less what happened to any of them. Chapter after chapter was dedicated to some asinine back story that felt boring and unnecessary. The “twist�� was rather easy to discover early on, and took so long to get to the point I honestly couldn’t wait to be done. This is the first book of 2020 I probably shouldn’t have finished but was too stubborn to not.
