Sure, Twilight is decently-written, and I like the basic plot, but I am finding less and less to identify with the protagonist. Sure, she's intrigued by Edward (who wouldn't be?) but why else should I feel for her? She values her mom soooo much that she moved to the Pacific Northwest to let her mom live the life she wants, but acts like a brat about keeping in touch with her. All the boys fall all over her and she makes no REAL attempt to make female friends. If I knew Bella in real life I would HATE her, and not in a love-to-hate kind of way.

Also, egads, her and Edward? He's ninety years old and looooves his power over her, such as what he's willing to tell her or willing to let her do. Sure, she has "power" over him, but it's power she can't control, it's the power of being appealing to him. YAY MISOGYNY.
