Mood Indigo

I’d say I’m a pretty weird guy that likes weird and peculiar things. But wow was this book weird. Sometimes good and other times forcefully so. What sprung to mind was young people living in a topsy turvy Alice in Wonderland meets the Yellow Submarine. It’s almost Monty Pythonesque. But it’s quirky facade truthfully hides the illusions of being young and the fear of working. And being hit with the reality that nothing lasts forever and nothing stays the same. It’s actually a very sad tale. Melancholic with hints of profound reasoning. I definitely won’t forget it.
Also I read the original translated copy from 1968 not this more recent one that was rereleased to accompany the film adaptation of which I heard the translation was subpar.
