I give it two stars for keeping me reading it. Usually horrible books I put down. This wasn't written horribly. I liked the style. I am sure that it is good writing from the Author and I may even choose to read more of her... however I hated this book. A man goes to prison for a crime he did not commit. And his wife struggles (if she even tries) to carry on without him while he's in jail. She fails miserably, but is conflicted as she faces her husband's early release from prison while she shacks up with another man. I hate that it pretends to be romantic. It pretends to be a love story. It's a story about lust. It's a story about a woman who can't make up her mind, who will sleep with whoever is there at the moment when she feels the need. To love a man means to be loyal to him. To love a man, means to put him as the one and only... she did neither with Dre nor Roy! And I hated her character because of it. I hated the parts that made it seem as if she was fine "loving two men"... by allowing herself to fall for another man, she negates love for both! I can't even love Roy, who is supposed to be innocent in the whole ordeal. He was unfaithful because he could't wait. I just didn't like it. At all. I rushed through just to be done with it.
