The Glass Castle

Every so often we are reminded that the most interesting reading comes from non-fiction, with all of its messiness, nonlinear plots and nonsensical actions. Jeanette Walls covers her childhood with a deft hand that never becomes sentimental, nor tries to cloak anyone's actions in heroism. She has an unflinching eye for the heart of things.
