Overall an excellent book with the only exception his takes on Stalin and bureaucracy and his praise of Khruschchev, while it was actually Khruschchev that made bureaucracy a much bigger and stronger problem in the USSR which eventually led to its collapse. Nonetheless it was a really minor point and Fisher didn't focus on that. His analysis on modern pop culture as well as the connection between neoliberalism with bureaucracy, psychiatry and forms of power are extremely important for today's analysis. A book that i consider really important regarding modernized Marxist theory and something that should be read by all leftists, especially by those who usually get too stuck in past (but still relevalnt) theories of marx/lenin/stalin/mao/kropotkin/luxembourg.
Another great thing i found about this book is how accessible it is to both someone who is familiar with Marxist political philosophy and Lacanian psychoanalysis but also someone who has no idea what either of these are.
5/5 without any second thought
