This was lame. It had a lame romance, lame villain and a lame twist ending. The twist ending made the build-up throughout the book feel pointless. (view spoiler)[Apparently the man she was falling in love with in her present life turned out not to be the man she loved in her past life. It was actually the gardener named Iain! I mean that would have been okay, but there was literally no spark between her and Iain. They barely seemed to care about each other throughout the book. It felt like it came out of nowhere, so the author can pat herself in the back for doing a twist ending. (hide spoiler)]. The villain was laughable. He was the 'holier than thou' type of villain. You couldn't come up with a more stereotypical 17th century villain if you tried. The romance was bland and it made feel absolutely nothing. I'm not impressed.
