Mariana Zapata really invented slow burn romances ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ I didn't really like reading slow burn romances tbh, but after I read her books I literally fell in lovveeeee.

This book is so addictive and unputdownable. I love the characters, how the story build up, their love story. Aiden is the broody type, grumpy, stubborn and quiet guy. He knows what he wants and how he likes every single thing in his life. He surprisingly isn't a manwhore and he didn't even bother with women since he was in high school. His attention is only on football.

Vanessa is a funny and independent heroine. And a strong one. Even though Aiden act like a complete jackass to her at the beginning, she really cares for him. When he lose a game, she would make his favorite food in the morning. She would give him a chocolate peppermint patties on his pillow every Wednesday and so on.

It's funny how Vanessa would flip him off and did a curtsy and she thinks Aiden doesn't aware about it but it turns out he just pretended not to witness. They're everything.

There are some moments that I personally love when I read it. First, in the elevator when she got scared because it stopped and the lights got turned off, when he accompanied her on Halloween, help her decorated the house for Christmas, calming her when the lights got turned off, the marathon, the things with her family, the convention scene, and the puppy.

And not to mention the epilogue!! I would love it to be more longer since I really want to see more of them and the kids lol. Aiden become so soffttt when it comes to his wife and his kids.

"Are you happy?" I asked. With his arms atill around the three of us, he looked up at me through those incredibly long lashes, and nodded almost distractedly. "Yes." Those massive hands went to the small spines of his mini-me's before detouring to gently touch the pudgy cheeks, his smile growing even wider as his gaze landed on mine once more. "But I can't remember anymore what it's like to not be happy."
