This was such a heartbreaking and gripping story ! I couldn't put the book down and yet I had to pace myself because I did not want the story to end. I am so fascinated by the story of this fictional family. I would love to get my hands on more books like this. How I wish Joanna Goodman would write the story of Hortense's (Maggie's mom) life and how she ended up so bitter or yet again Gabriel's life while he was away in Montreal. Oh ! I'm telling you I would tear into those books!
